2020 Powerboat Racing Season starts in Kuwait with Opening Round of 2020 UIM Aquabike Pro World Championship

Breathtaking action and fierce racing duels between the leading Aquabike drivers competing in the 2020 UIM ABP Aquabike World Championship were in the focus of the crowd attending the GP of Kuwait-City.

UIM President Dr. Raffaele Chiulli who also presides GAISF and SportAccord, attended the Opening Round of the Aquabike World Championship in company of AIMS President Stephan Fox and was impressed by the competitive racing action on the water: “I am extremely pleased to witness the outstanding organization of the first ever Aquabike World Championship Event staged in  the State of Kuwait, with 61 riders from 21 Countries having lined up.”

In line with the UIM’s efforts to assume environmental responsibilities in the powerboating sport, the Promoters of the championship, H2O Racing, kept up with their environmental-friendly strategy launched in 2016, by adding a new ‘Carbon Neutral’ Event on their record, for which the local organizers offset the cumulated carbon emissions by planting trees in association with the Treedom Platform that has to date resulted in 4,338 trees having been planted in Africa, South-Eastern Asia, Central America and Northern Europe.

The 2020 UIM Aquabike Pro World Championship is conducted over 6 Grand Prix staged in Kuwait, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Italy, Asia and in the Emirate of Sharjah.
