We are delighted to announce the participation of the UIM in the 12th edition of The World Games to take place in Chengdu, People's Republic of China, in August 2025. It is the first time Powerboating is represented in The World Games, and it is the MotoSurf Discipline in its electric category that will carry the flag of the UIM in Chengdu.
MotoSurf is the youngest discipline of the International Powerboat Federation, and it has been experiencing rapid growth since its integration in the UIM in 2019, when an agreement was signed with the Promoter of the MotoSurf World Cup during the UIM General Assembly in Qingdao, China, to organize this sport henceforth in line with the institutional rules that characterize the presence and role of the UIM within the Olympic movement.
The categories that will feature on the programme of the 2025 World Games in Chengdu are “electric MotoSurf Single Men” and “electric MotoSurf Single Women”, as well as “the MotoSurf Nations Cup”, a Team competition with motorization yet to be confirmed.
