Grand Finale of the UIM F1H2O World Championship in Sharjah!

 

Eighteen out of twenty-one registered boats lined up for the start of the 32-lap race on Khalid Lagoon, Sharjah - UAE.


Team Sweden’s Jonas Andersson led the Road to Sharjah-Grand Prix of Sharjah from start-to-finish to earn the two well-deserved 2023 UIM F1H2O Driver and Team World Championship titles


The Swede finished first ahead of Victory Team’s  Erik Stark, with Team Abu Dhabi’s Thani Al-Qemzi rounding off the podium positions.


Peter Morin of the China CTIC Team finished the Final Round of the 2023 UIM F1H2O World Championship in fourth position. Andersson’s team-mate Kalle Viippo was fifth and added valuable points to Team Sweden’s tally, while Marit Strømøy gave the new Mercury four-stroke V8-engined DAC the highest ranking of the season, finishing on 6th position.


The overall standing for the 2023 UIM F1H2O Drivers World Championship has Jonas Andersson on first, Erik Stark on second and Peter Morin on third position.


During the Grand Prix of Sharjah, it was announced that Indonesia had been voted as “the best 2023 new organizer” of the UIM F1H2O and the UIM ABP Aquabike World Championship.

 

The 2023 UIM World Championship medalists celebrated their success in presence of UIM President, Dr. Raffaele Chiulli who said:

“I spent an exciting weekend in Sharjah at the final Round of the 2023 F1 H2O UIM World Championship, one of the most spectacular powerboat racing series in the world. The races were breathtaking and the excitement grew lap after lap. It was awesome being with the pilots and their teams. Well done to everyone involved for putting together such a great event!”
