XCAT Championship Launch Lights Up Fujairah Marine Club Anniversary

Under the eyes of UIM President Raffaele Chiulli and APBA President Chris Fairchild, the opening round of the 2024 UIM XCAT World Championship provided a splendid setting for the Silver Jubilee of the Fujairah International Marine Club, celebrated in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Sheikh Saif bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Club.

The start of the 2024 UIM XCAT season was marked by the resurgence of the Victory Team, whose drivers Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali secured first and second place finishes in the two races in their new Victory boat.

This impressive performance leaves Victory Team leading the overall championship standings ahead of Swecat Energima Racing Team from Sweden and the HPI Racing Team from Napoli.

On the occasion of a personal meeting with the UIM President at the Emir’s Court, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, praised the UIM's efforts in promoting water sports and reaffirmed his support of the Federation’s Youth Training and Education initiatives rolled out on both a local and global scale.

The continued commitment of the emirate of Fujairah to actively promote the sport of powerboating through the Marine Club was underlined with the renewal of the UIM XCAT World Championship hosting agreement for another three years from 2025-27, executed prior to the 25th anniversary celebration of the Fujairah International Marine Sports Club, in the presence of the UIM President and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
