Fast boats and overtakings were at the menu last weekend in Cocoa Beach, USA, for the opening event of the 2024 UIM Class 1 World Championship.
And the first win of the season went to the rebranded DF Young / Good Boy Vodka team of throttleman Rich Wyatt and driver Alex Pratt: Starting from last position after the qualifying session of Saturday, Wyatt and Pratt quickly took the best on the rest of the fleet on Sunday’s race, storming on the straight aboard their Mystic boat. Moprheus 8 and Monster Energy / MCON teams round off the podium.
The next event for the Class 1 teams is just around the corner: Lake of the Ozarks (Missouri, USA) will host the second round of the Championship on 30th May / 1st June.
