One Year to Go: Countdown Begins for TWG Chengdu 2025 - MotoSurf

Today 7th August 2024, the countdown begins for The World Games Chengdu 2025, which will take place between 7th and 17th August, next year. Over 4,000 athletes from more than 100 countries will be competing across 35 sports.

We are thrilled to be an active part of the 12th edition of The World Games. For the first time, Powerboating is in the Sports Program of The World Games, with its youngest Discipline MotoSurf. In the “MotoSurf Nations Cup” 12 Teams composed of one male and one female driver each will compete on boards powered by electric engines, whereas in the “Single Men” and “Single Women” categories, participants will compete on biologically powered MotoSurf boards.

To mark the start of the countdown, a IWGA Delegation participated in festivities across the three major Chinese cities Beijing, Hong Kong, and Chengdu, showcasing the enthusiasm and commitment of both the participating athletes and the local sports communities.

By this occasion, the official mascots of The World Games Chengdu 2025 were presented: SHU BAO, a panda, and JIN ZAI, a monkey. These mascots were chosen to represent the Sichuan province's rich natural beauty and the vibrant city of Chengdu. Their charming appearances are designed to captivate both children and adults, adding a touch of charm and approachability to the competitions.
