Both F2 and F4 powerboat classes had a World Championship round organized last weekend in Lithuania, and the many spectators massed on the shores of the Baltic Sea were entertained by the twists and turns of the races.

For what is her second season in the Championship, twenty-year-old Mathilda Wiberg from Sweden took her first ever F2 GP win: taking advantage of Matthew Palfreyman and Jarno Vilmunen withdrawals, she stormed to the checkered flag in her Molgaard boat ahead of Nelson Morin (FRA) and Edgaras Riabko (LTU).

With his multiple wins in the prestigious 24 Hrs of Rouen, the Frenchman is no stranger to rough waters conditions as experienced last weekend in Klaipeda, and he grabbed second place. Driving in home waters, the Lithuanian driver delivers consistent performances since the beginning of the season and is now leader of the Championship Overall with 36 points.

In Formula 4, Andre Solvang from Norway conforted in lead in the World Championship Standings with a second place in Race 1 and a first place in the Race 2 of Saturday. And it was none other than Mathilda Wiberg's brother, Hilmer, who represented the biggest treat for Solvang throughout the weekend. With his win in the first race coupled with a second place in Race 2, the Swede is propelled to the second position of the Overall, in a weekend to remember for Wiberg Racing team.

The fleet of F4 drivers is now enjoying a short break before the third and last round of the F4 World Championship, that will be held in Viverone Lake, Italy, in three weeks from now.
