UIM Offshore Class 3D World Championship – Cervia, 6-8 September
The UIM Offshore Class 3D World Championship took place in Cervia (RA), Italy, from September 6th to 8th. The 2024 World Title was claimed by the Italian-Monegasque duo Serafino Barlesi and Tomaso Polli on D20. The Norwegian team of Erik Johansen Sundblad and Arild Magnussen Brede on D55 secured the silver medal, while the bronze went to the Italian crew Fabio Magnani and Mario Cosma on D88.
In Race 1, the podium was as follows:
1st – Barlesi and Polli,
2nd – Sundblad and Magnussen,
3rd – Finnish duo Frederik Groth and Filip Eriksson.
In Race 2, Barlesi and Polli took the top spot once again, followed by Francois Pinelli from Corsica and Saul Bubacco from Venice on D96 in second place. The third spot went to the Italian team Andrea and Lorenzo Bacchi of Mot. Boretto Po on D10.
With a 2nd and 5th place finish, Sundblad and Magnussen secured the World Championship silver medal with 1027 points. The Italian crew of Fabio Magnani and Mario Cosma finished in 5th and 7th place in the two races, earning them 817 points and the bronze medal.
UIM Pleasure Navigation World Championship – Plymouth, 7-8 September
The final round of the UIM Pleasure Navigation World Championship took place over the weekend in Plymouth, Great Britain. After two days of intense racing, the 2024 world champions were crowned.
