2025 Aquabike GP of Hungary: European and World Titles Awarded

 

The final seven Motos of the 2025 UIM-ABP Aquabike European Continental Championship Grand Prix of Hungary concluded on Sunday, August 3, delivering thrilling performances and crowning new champions across multiple categories.

 

Runabout GP1

Hungary’s György Kasza delighted the home crowd with a commanding Moto 3 win to take the Grand Prix victory in Runabout GP1. Jérémy Perez finished second in the Moto and extended his lead in the European Championship. Robin Laforge held onto second in the standings and finished third overall in the GP.

Kasza: “It was an easy win. I learned from the mistake in the last Moto… this time I took the fastest route.”

 

 

Ski GP1

Despite losing Moto 3 to Mickael Poret after a post-race penalty, Denmark’s Oliver Koch Hansen edged out the competition to claim Grand Prix victory by a single point. Quinten Bossche took second overall, with Poret third, maintaining his lead in the European Championship.

Koch Hansen: “That was hard. I am a little bit tired. So far so good. Now we will see what happens in Vichy.”

 

 

Ski Ladies GP1

Norway’s Benedicte Drange delivered a perfect weekend with three Moto wins, sealing a dominant Grand Prix victory. Jessica Chavanne and River Varner completed the Moto 3 podium. Chavanne’s consistent performance ensured she retained a 24-point lead in the European Championship.

“Three out of three here in Hungary. It is just an amazing feeling and I am super happy for my team and my mechanics now,” said Drange.

 

 

Freestyle

In a dramatic finale, Italy’s Roberto Mariani bounced back from defeat in Moto 1 to outperform Slovenian Domen Kerman with a stunning Moto 3 win, claiming Grand Prix glory on a tie-breaker. Mariani dazzled the judges with his variety, securing 182 points. Massimo Accumolo completed the Grand Prix podium.

 

 

Runabout Veterans GP1

Poland’s Adam Wasilewski claimed an emphatic Grand Prix victory and clinched the European Championship title with a dominant performance in Moto 3. The Polish rider crossed the line over 26 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, confirming his superiority in the class. Hungary’s György Kasza was a non-starter, while Arkadiusz Bartyzel finished third in the Moto and runner-up in the championship.

 

Ski GP2

Estonia’s Mattias Reinass continued his flawless weekend by winning Moto 3, securing Grand Prix success ahead of Csongor Jászai and Marlon Tiik. Daan Hoeke, despite finishing seventh, retained his European Championship lead heading into the final round in France.

 

Runabout GP2

Despite finishing second in Moto 3, Romania’s Alexis Mihalcea sealed the Grand Prix victory in Runabout GP2. Moto 3 was won by Lithuania’s Domantas Vaznys, who overtook Mihalcea late in the race. Spain’s Alejandro Prats Palau extended his European Championship lead with a fifth-place finish, placing second overall in the GP.

 

Junior World Championships – Ski GP3.2, Ski GP3.3 and Runabout GP4

 

The 2025 Junior World Championships also concluded in Hungary, highlighting the sport’s next generation of talent.

 

 Milo Beernaut of Belgium clinched the Ski GP3.2 Junior World Championship with a strong Moto 3 victory, overtaking Noam Bíró Santos and Topi Järvenpää.

 Leo Kete, representing Hungary, secured the Ski GP3.3 Junior World Championship by edging out Ali Al-Ali in a thrilling Moto 3 finish.

 Jose Vainio from Finland confirmed his status as the Runabout GP4 Junior World Champion, winning Moto 3 ahead of Aurora Filiberti and Rihard Leinsalu.

 

The Grand Prix of Hungary delivered high-level competition, unforgettable performances, and critical points in the race for the European titles. All eyes now turn to the final round in Vichy, France.
