F1H2O is back

Lake Toba, Indonesia – 24th August 2025. The UIM world’s premier class of tunnel boat racing returned to action this past weekend in Indonesia, on Sumatra’s Lake Toba.

Just like last year at the same venue, Sharjah team driver Rusty Wyatt started Sunday’s main race on fourth position and snatched victory ahead of Victory Team’s Alec Weckström, who delivered a strong performance in his return to the Championship.

F1 Atlantic Team’s Ben Jelf finished third, securing his first ever Grand Prix podium, while defending World Champion Jonas Andersson dramatically retired on lap 17 after leading the race from the start.

The Swede at least leaves Indonesia with a win in Saturday’s Sprint race one, gaining valuable points for the drivers’ World Championship standings. Sprint Race two was won by three-time world champion Shaun Torrente, who returned to the Series this year to race for the Victory Team.

Drivers and teams will be off to China in five weeks, for the Round 2 of the Championship set to take place in Shanghai from October 2nd to 4th.
