F2 and F4 seasons are officially underway!

Defending Circuit F2 World Champion Mathilda Wiberg won the opening round of the 2026 World Championship in Klaipeda, Lithuania, while Ardis Slakteris and Adam Wrenkler are tied on points after the first two F4 World Championship races.

Just as she did at the same venue last year, Sweden's Mathilda Wiberg claimed victory ahead of France's Peter Morin, making an ideal start to her 2026 campaign.

Qualifying was dominated by two sets of siblings. Mathilda Wiberg and her younger brother Hilmer Wiberg secured the first two positions, followed by French brothers Peter and Nelson Morin. The two pairs lined up in that order on Sunday's starting pontoon, while Finland's Roope Virtanen and Lithuania's Edgaras Riabko completed the top six.

At the start of Sunday's Grand Prix, local fan-favorite Edgaras Riabko made an excellent launch, moving up from sixth on the grid to third place by the end of the opening lap. Peter Morin also passed Hilmer Wiberg, who dropped to fourth position.

At the front, Mathilda Wiberg steadily extended her advantage and took the chequered flag ahead of Peter Morin and Edgaras Riabko. The race also saw British driver Mette Bjerknes retire following an accident.

In F4, the weekend featured two World Championship races, each preceded by three qualifying sessions.

Starting from pole position, Latvian newcomer Ardis Slakteris impressed in Race 1 by securing his maiden victory in the class ahead of Finland's Oliver Martin and Lithuania's Paulius Stainys.

Race 2 produced a completely different podium. Sweden's Adam Wrenkler, who had finished sixth in Race 1, claimed victory ahead of Norway's William Leithe-Martinsen and France's Jean-Baptiste Thomas.

With the F4 World Championship standings now taking shape, Slakteris and Wrenkler are level on points heading into the second and final round in Viverone, Italy, with the F4 European Championship in Aluksne, Latvia, taking place in between.
