New world speed record in Electric Hydroplane Unlimited Voltage

 

French driver David Helluin established the first 2026 UIM World Record with a speed of 87.25 mph (140.41 km/h) in the Circuit Electric Hydroplane Unlimited Voltage category, achieved over two consecutive runs.

 

The record attempt took place on 28 May and saw David Helluin complete two runs in each direction over a one-kilometre course on the Caen Canal in Normandy, France.
