The coastal town of Atlantic City, New Jersey (USA), hosted last weekend the opening round of the 2026 UIM Offshore World Championships for Class 1, Class 2 and APBA Super Cat, first event of a series of four produced by Race World Offshore and sponsored by XINSURANCE.
At a venue whose history with UIM and APBA dates back decades, teams defied the rough waters of the Atlantic Ocean to earn their first championship points of the 2026 season.
Class 1, featuring race boats powered by twin Mercury Racing 1100 Competition QC4v V8 engines, saw two teams battle neck and neck over the two races of the weekend: BPR Racing, with Bill Pyburn and Brit Lilly, and Discrete Offshore Racing, with Adam Carpenter and Reese Langheim. BPR Racing ultimately prevailed in both races to become the first championship leaders of the season.
In the APBA Super Cat class, Dirty Money Racing, with the same driver and throttleman pairing as BPR Racing, won the single race of the category ahead of Howe2Live Offshore, with driver Cade Wilson and throttleman Mike Howe. Driver Chase Muller and throttleman Jay Muller in Wicked completed the podium in third place. In Class 2, driver Logan Adan and throttleman Giovanni Carpitella of Montlick Injury Attorneys, ran uncontested to claim victory in both Saturday and Sunday races.
Following an event that also attracted numerous teams competing in classes of the APBA National Championship, attention now turns to Michigan City, Indiana (USA), which will host the second round of the XINSURANCE UIM World Championship Series.
