Statement from UIM President, Dr. Raffaele Chiulli:
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Finnish driver Lenni Strandberg following a racing accident at last weekend’s Circuit GT30 European Championship.
Lenni was an active and esteemed member of the powerboat racing family since a young age, racing in both the Circuit and Offshore disciplines.
We commend the efforts of the race organization, officials and safety team during these extremely difficult moments that remind us of the risks involved.
Our thoughts are with Lenni’s family, friends, fellow competitors, and everyone who knew him.
